Rathdowney Playground

  • Rathdowney Playground or “Darú na nÓg” playground is located at St Fergal’s College, Rathdowney. The large playground was designed by children for children – it is a mecca for kid’s mecca, so it’s perfect for a family day out. The playground embodies all a child may want. It has MUGA, or multi use games areas, which provides valuable additions to play areas and anywhere restricted space can compromise access to sport facilities. Emo Court and Gardens

  • Emo Court and Gardens: Located in the shadow of the Slieve Blooms mountains, Emo Court and Gardens is a stunning estate rich in history and natural beauty. This neoclassical mansion was home to the earls of Portarlington until the War of Independence forced them from Ireland. The Jesuits moved in shortly after and the mansion was home base to around 500 of the order’s trainees. Emo Court was fully restored in the 1960s and the stunning gardens became open to the public before the entire estate was opened in 1994, so is the perfect attraction for any history or garden enthusiast. Rock of Dunamase
