Boys School Hurling Final

St. Francis BNS vs Killoughey Schools, St. Brendan’s Park , Birr on Wednesday 25th May at 5pm

Congratulations to the St. Francis Boys School Hurling team who have qualified to reach the 2016 Offaly Cumann na mbunscol Division 2 Hurling Final. The hard training during lunchtime and after school finally paid off when the boys qualified for the final by defeating Durrow N.S. in a fantastic game of hurling at Clara GAA grounds last Monday 16th May. It was a proud moment for these players and there were fantastic performances from every player in all areas of the field.

There were also great wins over Ballinamere, Scoil Eoin and Killeigh who Clara also defeated in the group stages of the competition.
The school team will now play Killoughey schools in the final , which is due to be played in Birr on Wednesday 25th May at 5pm. Killoughey schools are an amalgamation of three schools in Killoughey – Coolanarney N.S, Mountbolus N.S and Gortnamona N.S.
We would really value your support as a victory in this final would mean these group of boys would become the first school team in over ten years to complete the hurling and football double!

History beckons for these players and with your support we can do it!

Remember Wednesday 25th May in Birr vs Killoughey at 5pm!
