Clara GAA Notes

Division 1 Football

Clara played St. Brigids on Sunday last in Clara and won on a score line of 2-10 to 0-02.  Both sides started at a high tempo and St. Brigids made it difficult for Clara with committed tackling and hassling all over the field. Scores were hard to come by for both sides but we managed to lead by 0-06 to 0-01 at half time. The game opened up in the second half and scores began to come a little easier for Clara. Goals from Stephen and Joey Deehan helped Clara to the points in our first league outing of the year. The Clara team was: James Kinahan, Richie Slammon, John Ledwith, Paul Mitchell, David Ledwith, Lorcan Hiney, Andrew Cushen, Ross Brady, Graham Guilfoyle, John O’Hara, Stephen Deehan (1-3, 0-1free), Bob Mitchell, Joey Deehan (1-6, 0-5frees), Barry Cushen(0-1) and John Reynolds. Subs: Mark Fallon for J Kinahan, Darren Coughlan for A Cushen, Gary Collins for S Deehan, Alan Gavin for B Mitchell, Darren Scanlon for John O’Hara and Liam Monaghan for D Ledwith.

Under 16 Football League

Clara Under 16’s got their year off to a winning start with a comprehensive 6-11 to 2-014 win over Durrow in Durrow on Sunday morning.

The numbers drawn were 7-8-11-21. There was no Jackpot winner. We had fifteen match three winners who received €15 each.
