Raheen Hurlers slumped to their 3rd defeat of the Div 3 League campaign as they came out on the wrong side of a 1-11 to 1-08 scoreline against Carrig & Riverstown in Geashill last Wednesday evening in the penultimate round. Carrig were first off the mark with the opening 4 points before Raheen opened their account with a pointed free on 12 mins. The remainder of the half saw both sides add 2 more points apiece which left C&R leading at the break 0-06 to 0-03. The second half started in reverse fashion to the first half as Raheen sent over the first 4 points before C&R pointed a free on 12 mins. Raheen then went ahead on 14 mins as they dipatched their goal when Paddy Rigney’s snot was blocked down by the keeper and tipped into the net.  This would be as good as it would get for Raheen as C&R hit back with 3 points to Raheen’s 1 before dispatching their goal on 25 mins to re-take the lead and they wrapped it up with the final point in stoppage time.
