U16 Football Championship

Clara played Kilcormac/Killoughey on Monday night last and won on a score line of 4-16 to 1-3. The Clara team was: Wesley Johnson, Darryl O’Brien, Callum Egan, Ciaran Doyle, Kieran Hartnett, Adam Owens, Conor Egan(0-1), Thomas Dolan, David Falsey(0-1), Josh McCloskey, David Fleming(2-5, 0-3frees), Sean Tierney(1-3), Josh Fleming, Mark Newman(0-2) and Conor Murray(1-1). Junior Hurling Championship
Clara 4-18  Brosna Gaels 1-8.
Clara maintained their position as leaders of the group with a good solid win over Brosna Gaels on a scoreline of 4-18 to 1-8 played on a well prepared Ballycumber pitch last Friday evening.  Ahead by 3-9 to 0-4 at half time we were never in danger of losing, and were comfortable winners at the end.  The management, players and club would like to wish Barry Cushen a quick and speedy recovery from his injury.

Junior B Football Championship

Clara played Rhode on Sunday last and won on a score line of 3-11 to 2-8. This result now qualifies Clara for the Semi Final of the Junior B Football Championship. The Clara team was: Mark Fallon, Mick Falsey, Chris Dwyer, Michael Mitchell, Jonny Hanamy(0-1), Dermot Doolin, George Robbins, Carl Stewart(1-2), James Fleming, Sean Kelly(0-1), Tony Dalton(1-1, 1-0Pen), Colin Flanagan, Sean Nolan, James Stewart(0-5, 0-2frees) and Brian Gavin(0-1). Subs: Padraig Henry for C Dwyer, Padraig Moran(1-0) for C Flanagan and Brian Minnock for M Falsey.

Division 1 Football League Semi Final

Clara lost the Semi Final of the Division 1 Football League on Sunday last when we were defeated by Edenderry in Croghan on a score line of 1-14 to 2-7. The Clara team was: Alan Cronin, Paul Mitchell, David Ledwith, Lorcan Hiney, Liam Monaghan, John Ledwith, Richie Slammon, Scott Brady, Kieran O’Meara, Caomhan Sheridan, John O’Hara, Deasun Baggot, Stephen Deehan(0-1), John Reynolds(2-2, 1-0Pen) and Joey Deehan(0-4Frees). Subs: Darren Coughlan for C Sheridan and Carl Stewart for K O’Meara

Golf Classic

Clara GAA Golf Classic will take place Friday 11th July. The format will be a 3 ball scramble, with a BBQ at the 12th tee. The price is €30 per person or €90 per team. The times are 1pm to 5pm on Friday 11thJuly and 8am – 10.30am on Saturday 12th July. The committee for the golf classic is: Brian Gavin, Kevin Roe, Michael Mullen, John Naughton, Paul Stewart, Aaron Baggot, Padraig O’Meara and Tom Naughton.

Offaly GAA Kelloggs Cúl Camp

The Clara GAA Cúl Camp for 2014 will be held from 7th – 11th July and will involve Football, Hurling and Camogie. It will be held in Pairc Bride Marian Square each of those days from 10am – 2.30pm. Clara’s Lisa Stewart, Eimear Rickard and James Fleming will be involved in the Cúl Camp as coaches. The prices are as follows: €55 per child, €45 per second child and €40 per third child.

 

WEEKLY CLUB LOTTO

Lotto results 28/06/14 Numbers drawn were 3-9-16-27. There was no winner of the Jackpot. We had 2 match 3’s who will receive €75 each. These were: Nancy Dolan and Sandra & Mary Buckley. Next week’s draw is for €2450 and takes place in The Mill at 10pm on Saturday night. Tickets are available from committee members and in premises throughout the town priced at €1.50. All support greatly appreciated.
