Division 3 Football League

Clara lost to Doon on Friday night last to Doon on a score line of 1-7 to 0-8 in the Division 3 Football League. The Clara team was: Wayne Flanagan, Gavin Carroll, Martin Fleming, Richie Slammon, Callam Stewart, Deasun Baggot, Andrew Cushen, Kieran O’Meara, Peter Flanagan, Aaron Ngo, Paul Deehan, Caomhan Sheridan, Tom Naughton, Alan Cronin, Michael Mitchell. Subs: Darren Coughlan for C Sheridan, Padraig Moran for T Naughton, Colin Flanagan for K O’Meara, Mark Fallon for A Ngo and Evan O’Meara for P Deehan

Division 1 Football League

Clara defeated Edenderry on Saturday evening last in Edenderry on a score line of 3-6 to 1-7. The Clara team was: James Kinahan, Paul Mitchell, David Ledwith, Lorcan Hiney, Liam Monaghan, John Flattery, Bob Mitchell, John Ledwith, Ross Brady, Caomhan Sheridan, John Reynolds(1-1), Stephen Deehan(0-1), Stephen O’Brien(0-1), Barry Cushen(2-2) and Joey Deehan(0-1 free). Subs: Richie Slammon for C Sheridan, Paul Deehan for S Deehan, Peter Flanagan for S O’Brien, Andrew Cushen for B Mitchell and Callam Stewart for L Monaghan.

WEEKLY CLUB LOTTO

Lotto results 01/03/14 Numbers drawn were 9-10-13-30. There was no winner of the Jackpot this week. There was no match 3 winner. The 3 Lucky Dip winners were Alanna Clarke, Jim Connolly and Luke Mannering who receive €50 each, well done. Next week’s draw is for €5,850 and takes place in Dolans at10pm on Saturday night. Tickets are available from committee members and in premises throughout the town priced at €1.50. All support greatly appreciated.

U8 INDOOR HURLING LEAGUE

Round 4 took place last Tuesday night and the big crowd were treated to 3 great games. Clashawaun showed great improvment with a 7-1 win over Kilbride and have now won their last 2 games. Ballinough just got over Woodfield on a score line of 7-5 in a classic game with some great goals and this win puts Ballinough on the top position of the league. The last game was a great game with the sides level twice in the 1st half but Aughamore got on top in the second half to win on a scoreline of 10-4

With one round left to play before the finals 4 teams are on 4 points (Clasawaun/Woodfield/Kilcoursey/Aughamore) and one team on 2 pts Kilbride and Ballinough are on 6 pts. This leaves 5 teams in the running for the A-final with our final round of games on Tues 4th March when Aughamore V Woodfield @ 7pm, Kilbride V Kilcoursey @ 7.20 and Clashawaun V Ballinough @ 7.40. The 3 finals for the Tom Naughton, Tommy Doaln, Ber Cowen Cups will take place on Tues 11th March at 7pm sharp followed by the medal presentation at 8pm. Come along and support our youngest club players on their big night.

Quiz Night

There will be a quiz night on the 28th March in The Mill. The cost is €20 per table of 4.

Registration Night

There will be a registration night held on Wednesday 5th March at 7pm for all members. Underage mentors will be in attendance on the night so that players and parents will know who is over the different age groups. All parents and children are welcome to join our club for 2014. There will be tea/coffee and refreshments available for all parents and children on the night.

 

National Draw

There is a National Draw been run by the GAA to help clubs raise funds.  All tickets sold will go to Clara GAA club which is a big boost and help to the club in the current financial climate. In addition to the prizes listed below the club will be holding an internal draw for anyone who buys a ticket off Clara GAA. There will be 4 prizes of €50. The price of a ticket for this draw is€10. The draw will take place on St. Patricks Day in Croke Park at the All Ireland Club Finals.
