U15 FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Na Fianna U15 Footballers were beaten for the first time in the League by a strong St Broughans side in Round 4 last Sunday morning in Walsh Island on a scoreline of 2-15 to 2-05. St Broughans opened the scoring with the first 4 points before Na Fianna got off the mark with a point midway through the first half. The remainder of the half saw St Broughans add another 6 points to Na Fianna’s 1-02 with the goal struck by Ray Daly and so at the break St Broughans led by 0-10 to 1-03. St Broughans pulled clear early in the second half scoring 1-02 to Na Fianna’s 1 point. Then on 16 mins Na Fianna gave themselves a glimmer of hope when they were awarded a penalty after Joey Kinahan was brought down and Colin Keogh dispatched it to the net for goal no 2 but the recovery did not materialise as St Broughans wrapped it up in the remaining mins by scoring 1-03 to a pointed free by Na Fianna.
