Clara GAA Club Notes Oct 28th
INTERMEDIATE HURLING RELEGATION PLAY-OFF
Clara lost the Intermediate Hurling Relegation Final on Saturdayevening last when we lost to Birr in Killurin on a score line of 1-12 to 1-11. The Clara team was: Darren Fleming, Pa Smith, Jonathan O’Brien, Brian Minnock, Alan Gavin, Lorcan Hiney, Leon Egan, Barry Cushen, Sean Nolan, Joey Deehan(1-10, 0-6frees, 0-2 65’s), Stephen O’Brien(0-1), Darren Scanlon, Marius Stones, David Ledwith and Mark Fallon. Sub: Lee Scanlon for M Fallon. The club would like to thank the management team of Brian Gavin, William Flynn, John Naughton and coach Niall Lynch for all their efforts during the year.
HALLOWEEN TEENAGE DISCO
On Wednesday the 30th of October we will be running a teenage disco in the star from 8.30pm to 11.30pm and a kids disco from 6pm to 8pm. This will be a fancy dress event with prizes going to the best costumes. Admission is €5 and the great Joe and Eamon will be running their tuck shop as normal. Fully supervised by committee members.
WEEKLY CLUB LOTTO
Lotto results 26/10/13- Numbers drawn were 10,13,17,20. There was no winner of the Jackpot this week and 2 matched 3 who both win €75 each ,Ca and Fra and Leanne Daly well done. .Next weeks draw is for €3,200 and takes place in Cowens at 10pm. Tickets are available from committee members and in premises throughout the town priced at €1.50. All support greatly appreciated.
UNDERAGE HURLING
Our u8 hurlers returned to the star last Thursday where they will continue to train all the way up to Christmas. All members are welcome and will receive texts each week about it. It starts at 7pm to 8pm under the watchful eye of Mentors Banjo, David, Ivan, Jimmy and Mel. Players are asked to bring €2 to cover the cost of the hall and tea and coffee will be supplied to the parents. Hope to see you there.
CLARA GAA AGM
It has been confirmed that our AGM will take place on Monday November 25th in the convent at 8pm. All members are welcome to attend and we ask if anybody would like to join our committee or knows of anybody who would like to get involved in coaching a team or fundraising to use these next 3 weeks to think about how you can help Clara GAA. We look forward to seeing you there. More information on the AGM will be in next weeks notes.
CLARA GAA SUPPORTER 2014 WINDOW STICKER
Our official 2014 supporter window stickers are now available to purchase from Padraig O’ Meara or from Kevin Roe. Ideal for the car or house/business window, it gives us the chance to show we are behind our club all year long. It costs €10 and all funds raised will go to development of our teams. It proudly displays our black and white crest with the words 2014 SUPPORTER, the must have tag for all of Clara GAA. When will you get yours??
and finally our u6 footballers will return to the star on Nov 7th. Registration is on Wednesday Oct 30th between 6 and 7, its €10 for new members and free for 2013 members. All who want to take part MUST register on the night. The u6/u8 windcheater tops will be available to collect during this time also. Limited number remaining.
