Clara GAA Club Notes Aug 12th
WEEKLY CLUB LOTTO
Lotto results 10/8/13- Numbers drawn were 13,17,25,27. There was no winner of the Jackpot this week but 3 matched 3 and they are Adrian Brazil, Mary Kirby and Dermot Kenny who all win 50 euro, well done. .Next weeks draw is for 3,150 euro and takes place in Docs at 10pm. Tickets are available from committee members and in premises throughout the town priced at 1.50. All support greatly appreciated.
UNDER 8 TRIP TO MEATH
On Saturday last our under 8 panel travelled to Donaghmore/Ashbourne GAA in Co. Meath to play them in both hurling and football. The day was organised by hurling mentor Banjo Flynn along with support from Michelle Handy. At 8.30am the excited kids and sleepy parents meet at Pairc Phrionsias to depart on the 90 min journey. Great craic was had on the bus and it was clear the kids were in right form for the day ahead. On arrival in Ashbourne we were warmly welcomed by their mentors and players and we seperated the boys into 2 even teams. The teams played some excellent football and hurling and did Clara GAA and the watching parents proud. After the games we were invited in their magnificent clubhouse for tea and sandwiches which the hungry guests greatly appreciated. Then it was on to Tayto Park to spend the rest of the day amongst the many fun climbing walls, ziplines and water shooters. Its difficult to know who enjoyed here the most as both parents and kids all laughed during the day and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. When it was time to go the exhausted parents boarded the bus hoping for a quiet journey home but the kids had other ideas and they sang and laughed the whole way home. This was a brilliant trip and its memories like this that the kids and parents will have
forever.
