Br. Urban League 2013

20 years of the Br. Urban has produced some incredible memories and some quality footballers, lads that now proudly wear the black and white, lads that have won county titles and represented Offaly at all levels. We have a lot to be thankful for, for the way Mary Nestor organises all the little things we dont see, for the way James ‘Ginger’ Stewart refs and encourages every single child equally and without bias, for the way P.J Rickard takes great pride in identifying the next Graham Guilfoyle as he did the real one, for the commentary by Roy Cronin when all the kids are made to feel special and the parents a bit too, for the way Dermot Kelly and Stuart Marlow prepare the pitches without fail and perfectly, for all the mentors who give the encouraging teamtalks or the parents who scream and shout support like its the All-Ireland Final, for this town the Br. Urban brings us all together in sport. It brings us together as a community in the hope, in the belief that the next ‘big thing’ is there falling in love with the game, the way we did. Battling to become as good as they can be surrounded by supporters, hoping their dreams comes true.

To the Br. Urban committee we salute you and thank you most sincerely for the last 20 years and wish you the very best for the next 20.

Celebrations and Congratulations

Clara GAA wishes to send its heartiest congratulations to our treasurer Joe Rock and his very understanding and supportive wife, Margaret on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Joe is well known in GAA circles and we all know that behind every great man there’s a great woman so many thanks to you both for all the years spent in support of Clara GAA, and we wish you both many more happy healthy years together.
