JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Raheen Junior Footballers suffered their second Championship defeat against Tullamore in Geashill last Sunday morning on a scoreline of 1-09 to 1-07. In a tight first half both sides had a number of bad wides but at the break it was Tullamore who were shading it by the minimum 0-04 to 0-03.It was a bad start to the second half for Raheen when straight from the throw in Tullamore got through to score their goal but this was wiped out 3 mins later when a run by Sean Gorman along the end line saw him lay the ball off to jimmy Coughlan in the square who palmed the ball to the net for Raheen’s goal. By the midpoint of the half Raheen had tagged on 2 points to Tullamore’s 1 to draw level. Tullamore then added 3 points in a row before Raheen hit back with 2 points to leave just a point in it with 5 mins left but despite having a number of chances the equaliser would not come and in stoppage time wrapped it up with their final point.
