Senior Football Championship

Clara drew with Erin Rovers at the weekend on a score line of 0-9 each. Minor Football Championship

After our recent defeat to Ferbane we bounced back with a good away win against last Wednesday evening on a score line of 3-9 to 2-7. The Clara team was: Gavin Fleming, Colin Gavin, Gavin Carroll, Padraig Henry, Evan O’Meara(1-0), Carl Stewart, Paul Mulholland, William Fleming(0-1), Callam Stewart (0-3), Evan Dignam, Adam Scanlon(1-3), Stephen Handy, Luke Kelly(0-2), Sam Rickard (1-0) and Shane Bracken. Junior A Football Championship

We remain unbeaten in our group when we drew with Ballycommon last Sunday morning on a score line of 1-11 each. Trailing by 1-6 to 0-4 at half time, we had a very good second half and led by 3 points with 5 minutes remaining but Ballycommon scored the last 3 points to earn them a draw. The Clara team was: James Kinahan, Michael Mitchell, David Ledwith, Liam Monaghan, Robert McDonagh, Sean Nolan, Andrew Cushen(capt), Eamon Maher(0-1), Stephen O’Brien(0-1), Adam Scanlon(0-3), Luke Mitchell(0-2), Callam Stewart, Pa Smith(0-1), Tony Dalton(1-0) and Joey Deehan(0-3). U14 HURLING

The Clara supporters who travelled to Rahan for the U14 hurling championship game between Clara and Shamrocks last Friday evening were the lucky ones as both teams served up a thrilling high scoring game. Shamrocks got off to a dream start with 2 early goals but Clara worked hard and went in at half time 1-7 to 2-2 ahead. Shamrocks rejigged their forward line for the second half and put a lot of pressure on but Clara scored some vital scores and held out for a good win on a scoreline of 3-11 to 3-06. Both teams have to be commended for their sporting and skillful play. U14 hurling training continues every Thurs evening at 6.15pm.

UNDER 16 HURLING

Clara U-16 hurlers played Shinronein Clara last Monday night on a very wet evening in the U16 Championship and after a great battle both teams were happy to end with a draw. It was a low scoring game due to the wet evening but it was a very skilful display by both teams. Shinrone held a 2 point lead at halftime 2-4 to 1-5 but Clara got an early goal in the 2nd half and had a 1pt lead going into injury time but a late pt score from Shinrone made sure both sides would have to share points at 2-6 to 2-6.

U8/U6 HURLING

U8/U6 hurling training continues every Thurs evening in Pairc Phroinsias, KIlcoursey 6.30pm

Under 12 Hurling match v lusmagh
On Wednesday evening last Clara under 12 hurlers were narrowly beaten by Lusmagh in a thrilling game.Losing out on a scoreline of 1-04 to 1-02 Clara’s young guns put in a fantastic effort and showed we can hurl with the best of them.Adam Kelly,Ciaran Ennis and Stephen Falsey never gave the Lusmagh full forward line an inch.Edward Cullen,Dean Larkin and Patrick Phelan were superb in the half back line.Conor Dolan(1-0) and Cathal O Meara(0-02) both put in honest performances.On the half forward line Cormac Delaney,Ronan Newman and Lorcan Cornally worked tirelessly. Stephen Roe,Shane Gavin and Jack Reynolds showed for every ball and kept the Lusmagh full back line busy.Best wishes are extended to Dean Larkin who got a nasty belt of a hurley.Training every Thursday evening from 6.15 until 7.30

Walkers

People walking their dog on the GAA Grounds are asked due to Health and Safety that no dogs are allowed on the playing pitches. Pathways to be used only. They must have a restricted or short lead. Thank you for your co-operation

Weekly Club Lotto

Weekly Lotto 28/07/2012 -There was no winner of the weekly club Lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 3-4-27-28. There were 3 match 3 winners. They were Maura, May & Betty, Pudge Delaney and Irene Murphy. Next weeks lotto takes place in Whites and the Jackpot is €2900. Thanks to all who support our lotto and thanks to all our ticket sellers.

Monster Bingo

Clara will be holding a Monster Bingo on Sunday 5th August in the GAA Centre. The starting time is 8.15pm
