INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Raheen Intermediate Footballers suffered their first defeat in the Championship against Ballyfore in Round 2 last Tuesday week in Walsh Island on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-07. In a competitive first half it was Raheen who opened the scoring with the first 2 points before Ballyfore got off the mark with a pointed free which they followed up with the only goal in the 7th min when a kickout was worked back in quickly to the square and dispatched to the net. The remainder of the half saw the sides swap scores tagging on 5 points apiece and so at the break Ballyfore held a 2 point lead 1-06 to 0-07.  The second half went completely against Raheen as they were held scoreless with Ballyfore putting over 5 points to seal the win.

RAHEEN: Mark Byrne, Cathal Maher, Brian Corcoran, Mikey Keogh, Shane Carroll, Liam Boland, Mick McMenamin, Mark Gorman, Declan Byrne, Brian Crombie, Niall Leavy (0-01), Damien Arnold, Liam Gorman (0-02), Willie Stynes, Richie Reynolds (0-04).
