Cloughjordan Festival announces raffle winners and details of busking competition

The launch of the eagerly anticipated Cloughjordan Festival programme took place at Bomber’s Railway Bar in Cloughjordan over the bank holiday weekend.  The programme was launched with a free barbecue, music and the Cloughjordan Festival fundraising raffle featuring some amazing cookery and dining prizes.

 

Raffle prize winners were: first prize, Kathleen Carroll of Borrisokane; second prize, Margaret Cory of Nenagh; third prize, Éimhear Troy of Toomevara; and fourth prize, Sorcha Brady of Dublin. All prize winners will be notified this week.  Many thanks to everyone who turned out for the programme launch and raffle and who bought tickets. Thanks also to Cloughjordan House Cookery School, the Fairways Bar, Django’s Hostel, the Cloughjordan Street Market, Sheelagh na Gig bookshop, Cloughjordan Wood Fired Bakery and the Gourmet Gallery for providing raffle prizes.

 

Entry forms are now available for one of the highlights of this year’s Cloughjordan Festival  is the Cloughjordan Festival Busking Competition, which takes place on Saturday 30th June. The competition is open to all musicians and singers and will give all budding performers a chance to showcase their talents. As well as some fantastic monetary prizes, there is also an opportunity for the winners to perform at The Music on Main Street event which takes place later that evening.  The list of prizes in full is:

 

1st prize: €300 plus 2-song performance on stage at Music on Main Street

2nd prize: €150 plus 2-song performance on stage at Music on Main Street

3rd prize: €100 plus 1-song performance on stage at Music on Main Street
