U16 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Na Fianna U16 Footballers returned to winning ways as they easily saw off the challenge of Ballinamere / Durrow in Durrow in the final game of the group stage of the League last Monday week on a scoreline of 4-13 to 2-08 and in doing so leaving themselves in contention for a place in the knockout stage of the league. Na Fianna started brightly and midway through the first half they had put over their first 6 points but B/D were well in it having got through to score their first goal along with 2 points. Then came the decisive moment of the game when in a 5 min spell Na Fianna got in to score 3 goals from Colin McDermott (2) and Shane Dolan which put Na Fianna well ahead. Both sides added 2 points before the end of the half and so at the break Na Fianna had a comfortable lead of 3-08 to 1-04. B/D gave themselves hope of a comeback when straight from the re-start they got through to score their second goal and this was followed by a point. Na Fianna steadied themselves before hitting back with 2 points. Then 5 mins into the half Na Fianna sealed the win when James Lalor’s shot from over 30m out dipped in over the head of the keeper to the net for Na Fianna’s 4th goal. There would be no way back for B/D at this stage with the game now over as a contest and over the remaining minutes both sides further increased their tally with their final 3 points apiece.

U14 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Na Fianna U14 Footballers continue their Championship campaign this Friday evening (01st June) @ 7:30pm as they take on neighbours St Vincents in Geashill. All support would be appreciated.
FEILE FUNRAISING TABLE QUIZ
Na Fianna Football Club and Killeigh Ladies Football Club have come together to share arrangements for hosting the Feile Peil na nOg 2012 and to embark upon joint fundraising. In this regard a fundraising Table Quiz will take place in the High Chaparall, Geashill on Saturday 09th June 2012 (Note Change of Date) starting at 9pm with a Table of 4 costing €20. Please come along and support.
