Senior Football Championship

Clara played Ballycumber on Friday night and won on a score line of 1-15 to 0-11. The Clara team was: Kevin Meehan, Deasun Baggot, Gary Collins, Paul Mitchell, John Ledwith, Scott Brady(0-1), Lorcan Hiney, Kieran O’Meara, Ross Brady(0-1), Graham Guilfoyle (0-2), Stephen Deehan (0-2)(Frees), Enda Dunne (0-2), John O’Hara(1-1), John Reynolds(0-3) and Barry Cushen (0-2). Sub: Matt Mitchell(0-1) for S Deehan

Opening Day

Clara GAA held a very successful opening of Pairc Phrionsias on Sunday last. The day started with mass at 11.30am in memory of all deceased members. Events started in the field at 2pm with the Clara Town Band and our All Ireland Champion Ballad Group providing the entertainment.

Clara Senior Football team then played a challenge match Vs Tubber at 4pm. This was the first match on the new field. Ciaran McManus scored the first official point on the new field.

The official opening was performed by Liam O’Neill President CLG. The reigning All-Ireland Champions then played Kilkenny in a challenge match.

The Clara GAA club are very grateful to our neighbours Tubber GAA club for coming into Clara and playing us.

The hurling match between Offaly and Kilkenny was referred by Brian Gavin and his four umpires were Michael Gavin, David Gavin, William Flynn and PJ Lawler

Weekly Club Lotto

Weekly Lotto 19/05/2012 -There was no winner of the weekly club Lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 3-19-23-25. There were 12 match 3’s. They were: Ned Buckley, Paddy Grennan, Eileen Moran, David Fleming, Ollie Hall, Celine Kavanagh, Olive Horan, Bruno Kidney, Davis Brophy, Maurice Fitzsimons, Margaret,Edel and Sinead and Loretto O’Meara. Next weeks lotto takes place in Dolans and the Jackpot is €4100. Thanks to all who support our lotto and thanks to all our ticket sellers.

Bord na nOg Disco.

A Disco will take place in the G.A.A. Centre (The Star) on Saturday night 26th May from 8.30p.m. to 11.30p.m. Your support is vital and very much appreciated. Adult supervised at all times.

 

Car Wash Fundraiser.

A car wash fundraiser will take place at The Convent, Pairc Phrionsias , Clara on Saturday morning 9th June between 10.00a.m. and 1.00p.m.

The proceeds of all cars washed by the Clara Under 14 Football team will go to the club to help finance the team taking part in The All Ireland Football Feile on the week end of 22nd to 24th June.

We invite all parents and supporters of Clara G.A.A. Club to get their cars washed on the day. Cost is €10, to include a breakfast roll for the car driver. All cars washed will be supervised by the team management.
