Division 1 Football League

Clara played Tullamore on Saturday last and lost on a score line of 2-7 to
0-12. The team was: W Flanagan, D Baggot, D Collins, D Kelly, P Mitchell, L
Hiney, D Ledwith, S Brady, J Quinn, R Brady, L Mitchell, S Deehan, T

U21 Football Championship

Clara played Durrow on Sunday evening last and won on a score line of 5-14
to 1-8. The Clara team was: W Flanagan, R Slammon, J Ledwith(1-0), R
McDonagh, L Monaghan, D Coughlan(0-2), S O’Brien, G Guilfoyle (0-1), J
Flattery, C Stewart, L Kelly(0-1), A Scanlon (0-1Free), A Ngo (0-5), B

Opening Day

Clara GAA will be holding the official opening of our new pitch in
Kilcoursey on Sunday 20th May 2012. The main event on the day will be a
hurling challenge match between Offaly and the reigning All Ireland
Champions Kilkenny. The official opening will be performed by the incoming
president of the GAA Liam O’Neill. The will be a host of other activities
held throughout the day to cater for all ages.

A programme will be prepared for the day. If you wish to be a sponsor
please contact any member of the committee. The cost is 20Euro.

Weekly Club Lotto

Weekly Lotto 14/04/2012 – There was no winner of the weekly club lotto
Jackpot. The numbers drawn were: 1-9-22-26. There were 5 match 3 winners.
They were: Connor Moran, John Colgan, J Kelly, Catherine Grenna and Majella
Bracken.Next weeks lotto takes place in Carey’s and the jackpot is
3350Euro. We would like to thank all who support our lotto and all our
ticket sellers

Work  Nights
Our development of the GAA Grounds in Kilcoursey is nearing completion.
There are some small jobs still to be done, i.e. Painting etc. Volunteers
who have some time to spare are asked to be in the Convent from 6.30pm to
8.30pm on a Monday evening.

UNDERAGE HURLING TRAINING

Hurling training continues every Thurs evening in Pairc Phroinsias,
Kilcoursey

U6-8 on small pitch 6.30-7.30

U10-12 on the new pitch 6.15 -7.30

U14 on floodlit pitch 6.15-7.30

All players to bring hurl, helmet, shinguards (some spares provided) and
dress warm

Any body who would like to help out with any of our underage taining this
year is welcome or if you have any questions, contact 087 2649536. Games
will continue in the next weeks with U8 playing Mon evenings, U10 on Sat
morn, U12 on Weds evening and U14 on Fri evening.

U14 HURLING

Clara U14 hurlers played their first game of the 2012 season last Fri night
when they hosted Drumcullen in Clara. This was a close encounter throughout
the hour with the Clara lads just pulling ahead in the last few minutes
with a goal to win the match 4-10 to 5-03. It was a great opening game for
the U14 hurlers which was played on the new pitch in Kilcoursey and the
pitch was in super condition for hurling.

Clara’s panel included; Eoin Dunne, Daryl O’ Brien, Mark Doorley, David
Falsey (Capt), Nathan Bracken, Thomas Dolan, Seamus O’Brien, Ciaran Doyle,
