Na Fianna GAA Football Club notes 20th March

FEILE FUNRAISING CAKE SALE
Na Fianna Football Club and Killeigh Ladies Football Club have come together to share arrangements for hosting the Feile Peil na nOg 2012 and to embark upon joint fundraising. In this regard a fundraising Cake Sale will take place in the Community Hall on this Sunday the 25th of March after 10.30am mass in Ballinagar.  
MINOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Na Fianna Minor Footballers made it 2 wins out of 2 in the Minor League last Sunday morning with a comfortable win over Edenderry in Edenderry on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-05. Edenderry were without their St Mary’s School contingent started brightly and after 20 mins were tied at 4 points apiece but 3 late points edged Na Fianna ahead at the break 0-07 to 0-04. Within moments of the re-start Na Fianna had doubled their lead first with a point and from the resultant kickout Declan Byrne won the ball and sent in a shot to Richie Reynolds in the square who shot across goal to the net for the opening goal. By the midpoint of the half Edenderry had hit back with 1-01 but this would prove to be their final scores and as close as they would get as Na Fianna eased home. Ben Dunne who had just been introduced as a sub put his name on the scoresheet when his shot from about 30m out chipped the keeper in to the net. Another point followed before Na Fianna sealed the win with their 3rd goal with 3 mins left when Richie Reynolds sent the ball in from midfield which landed in front of Niall Dempsey who pulled on the ball to blast it to the net. Fintan Pierce completed the scoring with the final point a minute later.

U14 PRE-FEILE BLITZ
To prepare for the U14 All-Ireland Football Feile which takes place in Laois & Offaly in June, there will be a Pre Feile Football Leinster Bliz taking place throughout Laois & Offaly this Saturday (24th March) from 11am to 2pm. Na Fianna U14 Footballers will be taking part in Rhode where they will be playing against Rhode, Ballycumber / Tubber & Park / Rathineska (Laois). Best of Luck to all involved and All Support would be appreciated.

U16 FOOTBALL TRAINING
Na Fianna U16 Footballers continue Training for 2012 every Tuesday @ 6:30pm in Geashill. All players and intending players are asked to attend.

U14 FOOTBALL TRAINING
Na Fianna U14 Football Training continues every Wednesday at 6:30pm in Geashill. All players and intending players are asked to attend training.  

IRISH INDEPENDENT / SUNDAY INDEPENDENT FREE SPORTS EQUIPMENT PROMOTION
Na Fianna GAA Football Club are taking part in Free Sports Equipment Promotion currently ongoing in the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent newspapers. We would therefore ask all players and their families and friends to cut out the tokens which are printed every day in the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent newspapers then bring them along to training each week and give them to their respective team managers. Any players on teams that have not yet commenced training or anybody else can collect the tokens aswell and give them to Paurig Gallagher or Pauric Pierce. All support would be greatly appreciated.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership for club players has been fixed for the coming year at €15 for the first child and €10 for the second and subsequent child from each family. Membership can be paid to the relevant team managers when training re-commences.
