Raheen GAA Club Notes 15th August

The numbers drawn in Monday [08 August] night’s Lotto were  13 16 20 24 . There was no Jackpot winner of €6,000 and 1 Match 3 Winner [James Brophill C./O Mary Brophill] [€200 ].  Next weeks draw will take place in Doyle’s, Killeigh on Monday 22 August .

Raheen Hurlers suffered another heavy defeat in the Junior Championship last Saturday evening in Geashill against Drumcullen on a scoreline of 2-15 to 0-07. In the first half Drumcullen got going straight from the throw in and by half time had opened up a lead of 1-09 to Raheen’s 0-04 from Ciaran Direen (2), Michael James Pierce and Paddy Rigney. Drumcullen added another point early in the second half before Raheen began a period of complete dominance in possession for about 10-15 mins but could only manage to turn this possession into 3 points from Ciaran Direen (2) and Keith Quinn. In the final 10 mins Drumcullen re-took over and sealed their win as they scored the final 1-05 without reply.

Raheen Intermediate Footballers having already qualified for the Quarter Finals complete the group stage of the Intermediate Championship as they take on Doon this Saturday 20th August @ 4:30pm in O’Connor Park, Tullamore.               All support would be appreciated.

Raheen GAA would like to wish Richie Reynolds a speedy recovery following the injury sustained last week.

Raheen GAA Social Initiative Group’s Third Outing takes place on Monday 29 Aug 2011 with a trip to Athlone including a cruise on the River Shannon followed by Lunch in the Prince of Wales Hotel. Coach transport will be provided with a charge of €25 applying. The outing is open to all members of the community (young and old) in the catchment area of Raheen GAA And also neighbouring clubs.
