Agri Aware, the Irish agri-food educational body in collaboration with UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science, invite you to the launch of its “Big Red Shed” at the National Ploughing Championships. The big red shed will be home to a host of events throughout the 3 days with panel discussions featuring MC’s Marty Morrissey and Damien O’Reilly, cookery demonstrations with celebrity chefs Sharon Hearne-Smith and Edward Hayden, as well as sensory analysis sessions with a host of staff from the UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science.
Activities will kick off at 10.30am on Tuesday 19th of September at the Big Red Shed, Row 12, stand 284 with our first panel discussion:
“From Pitch to Plate” with MC Marty Morrissey
Panellists:
- John Heslin, Westmeath footballer
- Niamh Bambrick, Kilkenny camogie player
- Waterford hurler Shane Fives
- Roscommon Footballer Sean Mulooly
The discussion will focus on the player’s commitment to GAA and farming. They will discuss everything from juggling farming and training to nutrition.

CAP also ensures the sustainable management of our natural resources and the development of our rural areas.
The Agri Aware stand will also host a range of butter discos and milk races for visitors to enjoy as well as a photobooth for the all important selfies!
