National Dairy Council Looking For New Cheese Recipes For Competition
The National Dairy Council is inviting food enthusiasts and culinary students to enter an exciting new cheese recipe competition to celebrate European cheese. The competition forms part of an EU wide programme with the aim of promoting and creating awareness of the taste, versatility and convenience of cheese in everyday life.
There are two categories for entering your recipe:
Passionate Cooks and Foodies – A delicious, healthy and nutritious family style recipe that you might cook mid-week, the prize for this is a cooking holiday in Tuscany including flights from Dublin and accommodation for two people plus professional kitchen equipment to the value of €500
Trainee Chefs/Culinary Students – A special occasion recipe that you might cook for a dinner party or celebratory occasion, the prize for this professional cooking holiday in Tuscany including flights from Dublin and accommodation for two people plus attendance at a special Cheese Symposium in Brussels on 7th and 8th June.
The three judges for the competition include Irish Chef and author Clodagh McKenna, Irish Olympian and food author Derval O’Rourke and Vanessa Greenwood of Cooks Academy in Dublin.
Clodagh McKenna said “I am delighted to be involved with this exciting cheese competition and campaign, as a chef I am passionate about the taste and quality of cheese and love creating new and delicious cheese recipes. I am really looking forward to seeing the exciting recipes entries for this competition and feel the versatility of cheese lends itself so well to a myriad of dishes”.

The six finalists, three from each category will be invited to Dublin to attend a Cook Off in Cooks Academy on Friday 5th May where the two winners will be announced. All entrants must be available to attend the Cook Off if selected as a finalist.
