Bressie to launch Green Ribbon 2016 in Moneygall – #TimeToTalk National conversation about mental health

See Change will publicly launch the 2016 Green Ribbon campaign at 7pm at the Barack Obama Plazain Moneygall, Co Offaly on Wednesday the 27th April. Musician and mental health advocate Niall ‘Bressie’ Breslin will address the gathering in support of the nationwide campaign. Director of See Change, John Saunders, will speak about the impact of stigma on those affected by mental health problems. Laura Louise Condell, a See Change Ambassador, will address the gathering about the importance of the campaign and her own experiences of mental health difficulties.

The Green Ribbon campaign aims to change minds about mental health by prompting hundreds of events and thousands of conversations all over Ireland during the month of May each year. Between now and the end of May 500,000 ribbons will be sent out to homes, workplaces, schools, colleges and communities across the country.

WHAT: Niall ‘Bressie’ Breslin will launch the See Change  Green Ribbon campaignwhich aims to get people talking about mental health throughout the month of May. After last year’s campaign, 66% of people surveyed by Millward Brown reported that the Green Ribbon campaign helped them to start a conversation about mental health. 75% felt more comfortable having a conversation about mental health.
