Co. Offaly gets into the party spirit for Temple Street!
Temple Street Children’s Hospital thanks everyone in Co. Offaly who took part in 2015’s Trick or Treat fundraiser and raised vital funds for sick children
Co. Offaly really embraced the party spirit over Halloween by holding 19 Trick or Treat parties, and together they raised an amazing €3445 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
2015 was the most successful year ever for the annual Trick or Treat for Temple Street fundraiser, proudly supported by MiWadi, which sees spooktacular Halloween parties held the length and breadth of Ireland to raise vital funds for the children’s hospital.
A massive 2,300 people signed up around the country to host Halloween parties and over €300,000 has been raised so far, with more donations coming in every day!
Trick or Treat for Temple Street was once again sponsored by MiWadi and with their support, party packs with eerie ideas and party essentials were sent out to everyone who signed up to take part. The 2015 campaign was launched by Temple Street Ambassador, broadcaster and writer Moya Doherty joined by some very special little patients in the children’s hospital.
The funds raised from ‘Trick or Treat for Temple Street’ will help construct a new Neurology and Renal Outpatients Unit. These units are lifelines for more than 6,000 sick children every year and are in desperate need of a new and improved home. The new Outpatients Unit will enable our doctors and nurses to care for critically ill children in an appropriate environment.
Thanking everyone who took part in Trick or Treat in 2015, Elaine Gillespie, Campaigns Executive, Temple Street Foundation says, “Once again we were bowled over by the generosity, enthusiasm and creativity of everyone in Co. Offaly who took part and held frighteningly fantastic fundraising parties for Temple Street.
“Trick or Treat is one of our favourite times of year and we love to see the photos you send us of your parties and costumes. We are already looking forward to next Halloween and can’t wait to see what fiendish fun you have planned!”
