Waterford’s Price Slashed For Liam McCarthy Cup
Waterford secured their place in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship final following a 3-19 to 1-21 win over Cork at Semple Stadium. Waterford are now priced at 11/10 from 5/1 to win the Munster provincial championship following a burst of support from punters. Tipperary, who play Limerick in their semi-final clash, are next in the betting at 11/8, with Limerick on offer at 9/2 to win.
Waterford have also been slashed into 5/1 from 10/1 as punters get behind them to lift the Liam McCarthy Cup. Current title holders Kilkenny remain joint 11/4 favourites with Tipperary in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Outright betting, with Galway priced at 13/2 and Limerick next at 8/1.
Aoife Heffron, PR Executive at BoyleSports, commented “Punters were quick to react after Waterford’s 3-19 to 1-21 win over Cork and have backed them into the new favourites for the Munster provincial title at 11/10.”
She added “Waterford last lifted the Liam McCarthy Cup back in 1959, but this could be their year to end their long wait for an All-Ireland title having been drastically cut into 5/1 from 10/1.”
