Clara GAA Notes 24th March

Division 1 Football League

Clara played Shamrocks on Sunday last in Mucklagh in the Division 1 football league. Leading on a score line of 1-3 to 0-5 at half time after playing into a strong breeze we played some nice football in the second half and ran out convincing winners on a score line of 1-13 to 0-5. The Clara team was: James Kinahan, Paul Mitchell, Lorcan Hiney, Richie Slammon, Liam Monaghan, Ross Brady(0-3, 0-2frees), Bob Mitchell, John Ledwith, Graham Guilfoyle(0-2), Caomhan Sheridan(1-1), John Reynolds(0-4, 0-2frees), Aaron Ngo, Thomas Deehan(0-2frees)), Barry Cushen(0-1) and Paul Deehan. Subs: Andrew Cushen for B Mitchell, Peter Flanagan for A Ngo, Kieran O’Meara for T Deehan and Callum Stewart for L Hiney

U21 Football Championship

Clara lost the quarter final of the U21 championship at the weekend to St. Patricks on a score line of 5-10 to 1-2. The Clara team was: Wayne Flanagan, Leon Egan, Martin Fleming, Evan O’Meara, Colm Doyle(0-1), Callam Stewrat, Gavin Carroll, Alan Gavin(0-1), Eoin Wyer, Evan Dignam, Stephen O’Brien, Darren Fleming, Mark Fallon, Lee Scanlon and Sam Rickard(1-0). Sub: Shane Bracken for M Fallon.

Blood Donation Clinic

The Blood Donor Clinic will be in the GAA Centre on Monday 14th April from 3pm-5pm and from 7pm-9.30pm

WEEKLY CLUB LOTTO

Lotto results 22/03/14 Numbers drawn were 5-8-25-28. There was no winner of the Jackpot this week. There were 3 match 3 winners. They were Siobhan Gallagher, Kevin O’Rourke and Nan Robbins who receive €50 each, well done. Next week’s draw is for €6,350 and takes place in Cowens at 10pm on Saturday night. Tickets are available from committee members and in premises throughout the town priced at €1.50. All support greatly appreciated.

ARD SCOIL CHIARIAN HURLING                                                                                                          4 students from Ard Scoil represented the school over the last 6 weeks on the U15 North Offaly Schools hurling squad. They were Mark Newman, Conor Egan, Nathan Bracken and Ciaran Doyle and they played Kilkenny CBS, Dublin schools, Castlecomer College (Kilkenny) and Mountrath. After 4 very competitive games they lost 3 narrowly and drew one game, however the experience of playing hurling at this level will stand to these lads and well done.

Quiz Night

There will be a quiz night on the 28th March in The Mill. The cost is €20 per table of 4.
