Na Fianna GAA Club notes
U15 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Na Fianna U15 Footballers made it 3 wins out of 3 in the U15 League with a great late second half comeback against Rhode last Sunday morning in Geashill on a scoreline of 5-12 to 4-12. Na Fianna went in front early in the first half through a well struck goal to the top corner of the net by Adam Kelly but Rhode got going and by half time Rhode led by 2-09 to 2-05 with Na Fianna’s second goal scored by Colin Keogh from a penalty. Na Fianna put over the first point of the second half but then Rhode scored 1-01 without reply to go 7 clear. Na Fianna then added 2 points before Rhode struck for their 4th goal midway through the half to move 8 points clear and on course for the win but moments later the comeback began with David Buckley dispatching Na Fianna’s 3rd goal which was followed by 3 more points for Na Fianna to Rhode’s 2 before Conor Langton punched in goal no 4 for Na Fianna on 23 mins to cut the deficit to the minimum. Colin Keogh put over a free to draw level before Ray Daly struck for Na Fianna’s 5th goal and what would prove to be the winning score with 2 mins left.
