LOTTO
The numbers drawn in Monday [14th May 2012] night’s Lotto were 09 12 17 18. There was no Jackpot Winner of €3,400 and 5 Match 3 Winners [Jimmy O’Connor C/O Kevin O’Meara; Hannah Garry C/O John Garry; Larry O’Reilly C/O Mary Dolan; Elaine Dolan C/O Mary Dolan; Linda Martin C.O Killeigh P/O] [€40 Each]. Next week’s draw will take place in Hamilton’s, Geashill on Monday 28th May 2012.
INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP – ROUND 1
Raheen Intermediate Footballers finally got their first win of the year on board and no better time to do it as they came out on top aganist Birr in the 1st Rd of the Championship last Sunday morning in O’Brien Pk, Tullamore on a scoreline of 1-10 to 1-07. Raheen were first off the mark with the opening 2 points from Brian Crombie and Paddy Rigney but then Birr opened their account with 2 points to draw level and went in front with their 3rd point. Niall Leavy’s point drew Raheen level with less than 2 mins remaining in the half and then in 1st half stoppage time Raheen turned the game in their favour when Liam Gorman took a free on the wing near the halfway line which was won by Richie Reynolds on edge of the square in the clear and he fired his shot across goal to the corner of the net for the opening goal. This gave Raheen the lead at the break by 1-10 to 1-07. Raheen had the momentum early in the second half and they made use of it to stretch their lead with 4 points from Richie Reynolds, Willie Stynes, Damien Arnold and Mick McMenamin to which Birr replied with 1 point. Then Birr got back into it scoring 1-03 without reply in the space of 5 mins to draw level again. Raheen dug deep and 2 pointed frees from Paddy Rigney edged Raheen ahead and then in the final minute a quick break down the field from Niall Dempsey saw him lay the ball off to Richie Reynolds in the square whose shot came off the crossbar but the ball was picked up by Willie Stynes who stuck it over the bar to seal the win.

DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Intermediate Footballers continue their Div 1 League campaign on this Wednesday 23rd May @ 7:15pm when they take on Erin Rovers in Geashill. All support would be appreciated.
MEMBERSHIP
Members are asked to renew their membership as soon as possible. This year there are 2 membership options. Option 1 includes entry in our weekly club lotto draw and Subscriptions are Playing Members €120, Students/ OAP’s & Non Playing Members €110. Option 2 is the same as previous years and Subscriptions are Playing Members €30, Students/ OAP’s €15 & Non Playing Members €20. Payments can be given to Membership Officers Shane Carroll, Padraig Direen or Craig O’Halloran. New members are very welcome.
