Drumcullen GAA Club Notes

Fixtures: It is a busy weekend on the field with three games for the club in the coming days. Tonight (Wednesday) the Junior C Hurlers travel to Killurin to face Killurin at 7.30pm. On Thursday the Junior hurlers host neighbours Seir Kieran in a game that also throws in at 7.30pm. Clareen is the venue on Saturday for a crucial SHC clash with Kinnitty at 5.30pm. If the lads can come away with a win, they would be well on their way towards a place in the quarter-finals. All support for our teams in these games would be greatly appreciated.

Camogie: Congratulations to the Offaly Senior Camogie team who rounded off their first campaign in the All Ireland Senior Championship with a win over Clare. Drumcullen was well represented on the team during the campaign with Elaine Dermody captaining the side. Featuring on Saturday were Elaine, Fiona Stephens and Karen Nugent who scored Offaly’s first goal. Missing through injury were Pamela and Marcella Nugent.

Best of luck to the Offaly minor camogie team, again with a healthy Drumcullen contingent, who face Carlow in the Leinster Minor B Final on Saturday in Birr at 2.30pm.
