DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Intermediate Footballers suffered another heavy defeat in their Div 1 League campaign against Ballycumber in Ballycumber last Wednesday evening on a scoreline of 3-16 to 1-10. The first half was a very open affair with both sides trading score for score and an early Ballycumber goal was all that separated the sides at the break 1-08 to 0-08. The second half was an altogether different affair as a disastorous display from Raheen saw Ballycumber score at will to pull out of sight as they added another 2-08 to Raheen’s 1-02. This was despite Raheen getting a goal from a follow up when a penalty was initially saved.

DIVISION 4 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Junior Footballers concluded their Div 4 League camnpaign on a winning note as they saw off the challenge of Shannononbridge in Shannonbridge last Thursday evening in their final round encounter on a scoreline of 2-06 to 0-09. In a tight first half there was nothing to separate the sides and they went in at the break tied 0-04 apiece with the Raheen scores from Darren Monagher, Colin McHugh, Eoghan Bolton & Liam Guinan. The first period of the second half saw both sides tag on another 2 points. With just over 10 mins remaining Raheen finally gave themselves some breathing space when Jimmy Coughlan caught a high ball on the edge of the square turned and shot it to the top corner of the net for the first goal. Shannonbridge hit back with 2 points to ensure a tense finish. Then just into stoppage time Raheen sealed the win with their second goal when Noel Gorman lobbed a high ball into Richie Reynolds just outside the square who jinked his way around 3 defender and the keeper before planting the ball in the corner of the net. There was still time for Shannonbridge to win a free on the 21 which they put over but this proved to be to little – too late.

DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Intermediate Footballers were denied a share of the spoils in their penultimate fixture of their Div 1 League campaign against Erin Rovers in Pullough last Friday evening when an apparent miscalculated score by the ref saw Erin Rovers claim the win on a scoreline of 0-09 to 0-08. The confusion arose at half time when after a close first half it appeared to all present that going into the break Raheen were trailing by just a single point 0-06 to 0-05 but to everyone’s amazement the ref annouced that Erin Rovers were holding a 2 point lead 0-07 to 0-05 and his mind would not be changed on this. The second half was a case of numerous missed scoring chances by both sides, Erin Rovers early on and Raheen in the mid to latter stages of the half. Despite this Raheen did manage to add another 3 points replied to by Erin Rovers with 2 points but with the official score standing this saw the Pullough men win by just the minimum margin.
