DIVISION 4 FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Raheen Junior Footballers resumed their Div 4 League campaign last Thursday evening against Bracknagh in Bracknagh but unfortunately it was Bracknagh who claimed the win on a scoreline of 1-13 to 2-08. The first half was a fairly even affair until the last 5 minutes when Bracknagh pulled ahead first with 2 points followed by their goal from Offaly minor Peter Cunningham. This gave Bracknagh a comfortable lead at break 1-08 to 0-05. Bracknagh increased their lead with a couple of points early in the second half before Jimmy Coughlan fired in Raheen’s first goal in the 10th minute to start the comeback and this was followed quickly by 2 more points  for Raheen. This is how it remained until 3 minutes from the end when Karol O’Byrne made a run through the middle to shoot Raheen’s 2nd goal to cut the defecit down to a single point but Peter Cunningham, sealed the win for Bracknagh with another point in the final minute.

DIVISION 4 FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Raheen Junior Footballers suffered another defeat in their Div 4 League campaign against Kilclonfert in Kilclonfert last Sunday morning on a scorline of 2-07 to 1-07. Raheen who had just the bare 15 players opted to play with the strong breeze in the first half and this helped Raheen build up a lead of 5 points to 2 coming up to half time when Kilclonfert got through to score their first goal to draw level going into the break. Playing with the wind in the second half Kilclonfert then added 5 points to which Raheen replied with 2 points before Kilclonfert got in to score their second goal in the 20th minute. Raheen hit back 2 mins later when Darren Monagher got through to score their goal. Then in stoppage time Declan Kelly pointed a free for Kilclonfert to seal the win.
