Drumcullen GAA Club Notes
Dinner Dance: There was a full house in the County Arms Hotel last Saturday Night for the joint presentation night with the camogie club and a great night was had by all. Thanks to all who attended and particularly to all who helped to organise such a memorable night.
Hurling Leagues: It was back down to action for the Senior and Junior teams in Division 1 and Division 3 of the Hurling Leagues last weekend. The Seniors narrowly lost out to Lusmagh in a high scoring encounter in Lusmagh by 3-18 to 3-15.
The Juniors opened with a fine one point win over Tullamore in Rath on a scoreline of Drumcullen 2-6 Tullamore 1-8. The team was: John Ryan, Shane Kelly, John Brophy, Keith Nugent, Cormac Loonam (1-0), Declan Teehan, Liam Kelly, Joseph Kelly, Mark Kennedy, Philip Spain (1-1), Clement Spain (0-1), James Watkins, Ray Quegan(0-2), Paul Mannion (0-2), Shane Guinan. Subs used: Ronan Quegan for James Watkins, Colm Callaghan for Joseph Kelly, Hugh Troy for Shane Kelly, Eoin Lyons for Shane Guinan.
The second match three winner was Aaron Murray c/o Mary Murray.
Lotto: The Lotto numbers drawn last Saturday night were 3, 4, 12, 19. There was no jackpot winner. Four match 3 winners each receive €40. Mary O’Meara c/o Celine Molloy; Mary O’Meara c/o Mary Murray; Adam Guinan c/o Peadar Nugent; Jack Guinan c/o Ger Gath. Promoters Prize – Mary Parkinson. Next week the jackpot will stand at €3,400.
Referees Course: The Offaly GAA Referee Administration Committee will be organising a Foundation Course for new referees in the coming weeks. Anyone who might be interested in taking up a career as a referee should contact Joe O’Brien 087 2542937. The course is free and carries certification on completion.
