Co. Offaly Raises €3150 For Temple Street

Bakers in Co. Offaly turned up the heat this spring and mixed, iced and munched their way to a spectacular €3150 at this year’s Great Irish Bake for Temple Street. People all around the county got on board for the special fundraiser, which was held in April.

Now in its 9th year, the Great Irish Bake encourages families, schools and businesses to get together, hold their own bake sale and raise vital funds to help bring hope and healing to sick children and their families in the beloved children’s hospital.

Temple Street was delighted to welcome actress and writer Amy Huberman on board this year as Great Irish Bake ambassador, who helped encourage people all over Ireland to get baking for this great cause.

A massive 900 bake sales were held nationwide with a total of €210,000 raised. The money raised by Temple Street’s Great Irish Bakers will help buy vital new equipment for the hospital’s theatres, wards and the Intensive Care Unit – which will directly benefit thousands of sick children.

Thanking everyone who took part in the Great Irish Bake for Temple Street, Denise Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Temple Street Foundation says, “The support that we have received around the country at this year’s Great Irish Bake has been simply phenomenal. Our amazing army of Great Irish Bakers really went above and beyond for our hospital this spring.”

She adds, “The funds you have raised will be put to work where they are needed most; to buy state-of-the-art equipment for our wards, theatres and Intensive Care Unit. To each and everyone who got involved by baking or buying at a Great Irish Bake – thank you. Your support will have a real and profound impact on sick children in Temple Street.”
