Twenty Authors Make Mercier Press Fiction Competition Long-List

Ireland’s oldest independent publishing house, Mercier Press has announced the long-list for their fiction competition. Works by twenty of Ireland’s budding writers were chosen:

The Sandbar by Donal O’Sullivan

The Silver People by Eileen Kelly

Blood Runs Green by Jack McAuliffe

Girl Half Cracked by Jane Rooney

Little Boxes by Jennifer Hall

Falling by Mia Christina Dorring

The Sugar Sugar Café by Michael Sheehan

What the Piper Promised by Neil Ginty

The Heart-Shaped Box by Regina de Burcaq

The All-Ireland by Tadhg Coakley

In addition to a publishing deal, the winner will receive a €1000 cash prize. The short-list will be announced in May 2017.  The winner will be announced in July 2017 and the book will be published in June 2018.
