Adult Football League Mid Tier 1

Clara hosted Tullamore today in the 1^st round of the league. Leading 0-10 to 0-01 at half time, Clara ran out winners on a score line 0-16 to 0-10, which means we kick off our league campaign with a deserved win. The Clara team was: JJ Colsh, Paul Mitchell, Joe Quinn, Colm Doyle (0-02), John Flattery, Richie Slammon, Carl Stewart (0-02), Paul Deehan, Luke Kelly, Alan Gavin(0-01),  Thomas Deehan (0-02), Martin Fleming (0-02),  Alan Cronin (0-01),  John Reynolds (0-06, 0-02frees) and Aaron Ngo. Subs: Gavin Carroll for L Kelly and Mark Fallon for A Ngo

Adult Football League South West Tier 2

Clara travelled the short distance to Tubber this morning to play the first round of the league. We were losing by 4 points at half time on a score line of 2-04 to 0-06, but we came out and played better football in the second half. We took a lead of 1 point in the dying minutes, however this was undone when we conceded 1-01 in injury time and we ended up on the losing side of a high scoring game which finished Tubber 4-12, Clara 2-15. St. Patricks Day

As always, Clara GAA will be participating in the Clara St. Patricks Day Parade. All members are encouraged to wear their Clara colours on this day and get involved with the parade.

Appreciation Night

An appreciation night will be held on Wednesday 16^th March in The Mill for everyone who helped out with Underage Football and Hurling during 2015

Registration Night                                                                                                     A registration night for all underage players will take place on Wednesday 16^th March in the Clara GAA Social Centre from 7pm-9pm.

Lotto Results                                                                                                                  The draw for the weekly club lotto took place on Sunday night last at Bingo. The numbers drawn were: 8-16-26-29. There was no winner of the jackpot. We had 8 match 3’s who receive €20 each. These were: The Phelans, Padraig Moran, Sean Moran, Roisín Moran, Aaron Kelly, Nanto Reynolds, Marguerite Kelly and Mary Coughlan.

Next weeks’ jackpot is €16,150 and the draw will be held at Bingo on Sunday 20^th March.

Clara GAA Car Stickers

Clara GAA Car Stickers for 2016 are now available from any member of the committee. The cost of a sticker is €5 and all proceeds collected through this venture will go towards underage development.

St. Francis Boys School

Well done to Eoin Gavin who represented St Francis boys school Clara at the Offaly primary schools hurling skills competition in Banagher last week. In very difficult and wet conditions Eoin came fourth overall in the county which was a great achievement. Well done Eoin
