Woodie’s Tullamore will make a difference to brave children in their local community following a major fundraising drive ‘WOW! Working on Wishes’ for the Make-A-Wish charity. They have confirmed that they have smashed their target to raise enough money to grant 37 special wishes, the equivalent of one wish for each of the 37 Woodie’s stores nationwide. Woodie’s Store Manager in Tullamore said “We are delighted to have raised a total of€167,102.64 nationwide with our store contributing €3,953.58 to the total tally. We want to thank our customers, friends, family, and suppliers for their support and generosity in helping us grant the wishes of children living with life-threatening illnesses.”

Susan O’Dwyer, Chief Executive, Make-A-Wish said, “The passion, spirit and unwavering  determination of the Woodie’s colleagues was evident from the very start and mirrors the determination of the Make-A-Wish children in overcoming the challenges of living with a life-threatening medical condition. This amazing and generous contribution will generate a lasting legacy of happy memories for the families we serve. Words cannot express our thanks to Woodie’s and everyone who supported this amazing initiative.”

The Woodie’s ‘WOW! Working on Wishes’ fundraising drive involved a grueling 1,500KM road cycle across Ireland as well as a five week static nationwide Woodie’s in-store mega static bike challenge where store colleagues peddled in relays for wishes.
