Junior A Football Championship
Clara kicked off the first round of the Junior A Football Championship on Monday evening last with a home game against Shamrocks. From the throw in we dominated this game scoring 1-09 in the first half hour whilst not conceding a single score. The second half continued in much the same. We created numerous chances and we were ruthless in front of the goals scoring a further 3-07. There was a great blend of youth and experience throughout the team and some fantastic quick football was played and some great scores were taken from 9 different positions on the team. Goalkeeper Mark Fallon made a fine save from a penalty midway through the second half. Full time score Clara 4-16 Shamrocks 0-02. The Clara team and scorers were: Mark Fallon, Gavin Carroll, Alan Cronin, Denis Hackett, Liam Monaghan (0-1), Paul Mitchell (0-2), Seamus O’Brien, David Falsey, Leon Egan (0-1), Luke Dignam (1-1), Andrew Cushen, Stephen Buckley (1-0), Scott Brady (0-5), Joey Deehan (0-4, 1f), Darren Scanlon (2-1).
