Starcamp children join Ryan Tubridy and the Puppets in the hope of a Christmas No.1

Starcamp children join Ryan Tubridy and the Puppets in the hope of a CHRISTMAS NUMBER 1!

Ryan Tubridy, Bosco, Zig and Zag, Dustin, the RTE Concert Orchestra and over 50 extremely happy STARCAMP children selected from every corner of Ireland are in the process of recording “The Zog Chorus” featuring Bosco, (formerly known as The Frog Chorus) to raise desperately needed funds for the Childline Emergency Appeal.

The legendary Bosco has gathered the puppet troops for this single. When speaking to Ryan Tubridy on 2FM recently, the diminutive puppet called on Zig and Zag and Dustin the turkey to join in and record a song together. Tubs suggested The Frog Chorus as the ideal song and said that he too would also lend his vocals as the “other muppet”. At the same time, STARCAMP, Ireland’s renowned nationwide children’s performing network, having recorded a single for Childline’s 25th Anniversary in 2013, also wanted to help raise money for this emergency appeal. The gathering of these very talented boys and girls aged 4-12 who attended Starcamp Summer camps this year, along with Ryan and the puppets will take place this week at Windmill Lane Recording Studios, Dublin.

“Christmas has come early for these little Starcampers who cannot believe that they are going into a real studio with Bosco, Zig and Zag and Dustin and particularly Ryan himself, whom they think is next in line to Santa Clause! They have been practicing and rehearsing night and day for the past week and the nerves and excitement are at an all time high, I can promise you that. Most importantly, we are delighted to be able to come on board to try to help Childline to reach their €1.2 million target in order to keep their 24 hour phone line service open”. Aideen O’Grady, Starcamp managing Director has said.

The single will be released into the digital charts and can be downloaded from Monday, December 8th and will be for sale in shops from Friday December 12th.

Childline, a charity which receives no government funding, has issued an appeal because they are in danger of not being able to keep their phone line service for abused children open beyond January.
