Junior Hurling Championship

Clara 3 – 11. Seir Kierain 3 – 10.

Clara secured the top spot in their group with a hard fought win over Seir Kierain on a scoreline of 3-11 to 3-10 played on an excellent prepared Clara pitch last Friday evening.  All though both teams were through this game was played in real championship spirit.  We lead at halftime on a scoreline of 3-6 to 1-6, our goals coming from Marius Stones and a penalty from Joey Deehan.  Seir Kierain had a great start to the second half and with fifteen minutes to go the game was level.  But we steadied the ship and secured the vital scores to get us over the line.  At this time there is no date for our quarter final or who our opposition will be.  We are now in the business end of the year and from Monday 27th July we are training on every Monday and Thursday.

Team: Pa Smith, Martin Fleming, John Ledwith, James Fleming, Liam Monaghan, Thomas Deehan, Lorcan Hiney, Ross Brady, Alan Cronin,( capt), Sean Nolan, Darren Scanlon, Stephen Buckley (0-4), Stephen Deehan, Marius Stones(2-1), Joey Deehan(1-6).  Subs used: Stephen O’Brien for Sean Nolan, Colm Doyle for Darren Scanlon, and David Ledwith for Stephen Buckley.
