Hullabaloo! – a Week Of Fun, Frolics And Mayhem For Offaly’s Children

Hullabaloo! – Offaly’s Children’s Arts Festival returns from Wednesday 2 – Saturday 5 November with another cracking mid-term programme of exuberant artistic delights for children.  Promising a week of fun, frolics and mayhem this Festival will run simultaneously in Birr and Clara and offers something for all the family.

Children will be introduced to a range of different arts forms; some of the highlights include a visit by Poulnabrone Bouncy Dolmen, a monumental inflatable sculpture by artist Jim Ricks; a moonlit world of strange and exotic creatures at the Moon Garden; Camera, Action, Shoot in which children will create their own animated short film; Hullabaloo! Glee Club; a sing-a-long bus and a storytelling caravan.  Other workshops include Hip-Hop Dance, Paint a Plate, Make a Dragon Fly, storytelling, creative writing and a drumming workshop.  A number of Ireland’s top theatre companies are taking part in this year’s Hullabaloo!; Monkeyshine Theatre’s “A Paper Princess”, Dog and String Theatre Company with “The Billy Holiday Show” and Little Big Top’s Production of “Jungle Adventure”.

Brochures for this Festival are now available and many of the events are for both children and parents so the whole family can enjoy them together.  The venues for these events include Birr Theatre & Arts Centre, Birr Castle Demesne, Birr Library, Tin Jug Studio, Clara Family Resource Centre and Clara Bog Visitors Centre.
