Junior B Hurling Championship

We were defeated by Shamrocks in the Semi Final of the Junior B Hurling Championship last Friday evening on a score line of 2-15 to 2-10. Played on an excellent prepared Ballinamere pitch we trailed at half time on a score line of 2-5 to 0-6 and though we hit the front with ten minutes remaining Shamrocks finished the stronger team and deserved their victory. We wish them well in the final. Intermediate Hurling Championship

Clara won the relegation playoff on Saturday evening against Killavilla in Moystown and won on a score line of 2-16 to 0-7 and this means that we have retained our intermediate status for next year. The Clara team was: J Deehan, J Fleming, J O’Brien, P Smith, L Hiney, P Deehan, E Stones, S Deehan, A Cronin, R Brady, S Nolan, K Meehan, D Scanlon, C Flanagan, M Hackett

Club Hurling

As our adult hurling season is now over the club would like to thank Brian Gavin, Jimmy Hughes and Ivan Melia for their efforts during the year. The club appreciates the great efforts made by ye.

Senior Football Semi Final Draw

The semi final draw was made on Sunday 11th September in O’Connor Park. Clara will play Rhode and Gracefield will play Edenderry. The semi finals will be played on the weekend of 24th and 25th of September.

Weekly Club Lotto

Weekly Lotto 10/09/2011-There was no winner of the weekly club Lotto jackpot. The winning numbers were 10,11,12,24. There were 5 match three winners. They were Dean Dunne, Maureen Berry, Kevin Doorley, Margaret Fleming and T Deehan. Next weeks lotto takes place in Whites and the Jackpot is €5150. Thanks to all who support our lotto and thanks to all our ticket sellers.

UNDERAGE HURLING

Clara underage hurling will have a grand finale next Sunday morning at 11:30am in Pairc Phronsias, Kilcoursey when Clara U8s, U10s, U12s & U14s hurlers will play Shamrocks. This will be a unique and historical set of games as it will be Clara’s and Shamrocks 1st time to have 4 underage teams play at the one time at the one venue. We would like to thank Shamrocks for their great help and support to organize this event. We would also like to thank the Clara Senior committee and Bord Na Nog for their support throughout the year and especially our Bord Na Nog secretary Kevin Roe also a special word of thanks to our PRO Michael Mullen. All the teams will train Thursday night at 6:30 in preparation for Sunday so a full attendance will be expected. The U8 team will play on the small front field and the U10s and U12s will play on the new field behind the girls school and the U14s will play on the main field. Many thanks to the team who cut the grass and prepare the fields throughout the year and your work is appreciated by all players and parents.
