A new ‘Cú Chulainn’ to be crowned at this weekend’s Spirit of Folk Festival!

This weekend sees the inaugural Spirit of Folk Festival take place in Dunderry Park, Co. Meath.

Along with a stellar musical line-up of folk, folk rock and traditional Irish Musical  acts there will be one challenge the punters wont want to miss – The chance to be crowned ‘Folk Hero’ and be imortalised in the Hall of Heroes at the festival.

The ‘Setanta Challenge’ will see festival-goers hone their hurley skills and come face to face with the six foot wooden dog that has been christened Setanta! Along with this they must try their best at 4 way tug a war, arm wrestling, and folKaraoke to name a few!

The weekend will also include over 30 music acts including The Hot Sprockets, Lisa O’Neill, Rhob Cunningham and Gay Woods of 70’s legends Steeleye Span

There will also be storytelling, living history, experimental archeology, archery falconry and big ceili mor on the Friday night!

Ticket Details – €95 for weekend camping pass, day tickets start at €40. Kids under 12 go free. Tickets are available online from tickets.ie or directly from Dunderry Park by calling 046 90 74455. Please be advised that no alcohol will be sold on site so those who enjoy a tipple should bring their own.
