LOTTO
The numbers drawn in TUESDAY [07TH June] night’s Lotto were 03 12 26 27. There was no Jackpot winner of €4,200 and 1 Match 3 Winner [P & H Shanley C/O Gorman’s] [€200]. Next weeks draw will take place in Doyle’s, Killeigh on Monday 20th June.
DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Intermediate Footballers finished their first season in Division 1 of the League last Tuesday week in Geashill with their final round game against Edenderry but unfortunately it was Edenderry who claimed the win on a scoreline of 2-09 to 0-10. Raheen were leading by 4 points to 2 midway through the first half when Edenderry were awarded what appeared to be a soft penalty which they dispatched to the net for the first goal. Both sides then added 3 points apiece before Edenderry broke straight down the field from inside their own 21 to fire in their second goal just on the stoke of half time. This saw Edenderry hold a lead of 2-05 to 0-07 at the break. The first 10 mins of the second half saw both sides get off the mark with another 2 points apiece. Over the next 15 mins the 2 sides were unable to add to their tally as each side were guilty of wasting good scoring opportunities. Then in the last 5 mins Edenderry sealed the win with their final 2 points as Raheen could only reply with 1 more point. Prior to this game Raheen knew that they had survived to play in Div 1 again next year and so the result of this game did not have a bearing on the relegation issue.
